Weekdays and weekends throughout June–August. Reschedule up to 48 hours out, no charge.
Each location picked for light quality, natural setting, and pet-friendliness. Suggestions welcome — if you have a spot in mind, let's use it.
A few things that make summer sessions run smooth for pets and people alike.
We're outdoors for 30 minutes in full sun. Apply before you arrive — Minnesota summer is no joke.
Bring a collapsible bowl and a water bottle. Hydrated dogs are calm dogs — and calm dogs photograph beautifully.
We shoot in shade and open light strategically. If your pet needs a break, we pause — the session isn't a sprint.
Whatever gets your pet's attention in a distraction-heavy park — real chicken, cheese, their absolute favorite. It makes a huge difference.
Lets your dog sniff around and settle before we start. A calm dog in the first 5 minutes = great shots the rest of the session.
Solid colors and earth tones photograph well outdoors. Avoid bold patterns — the location is the backdrop, you're the subject.
"Genuinely the best photos I've ever had taken of my dog. The golden-hour light at Lake Harriet was incredible — and she actually listened during the shoot because the whole thing was so low-key."
June–August books 2–4 weeks out, especially golden-hour evenings. Lock in your session now — your pet deserves their moment in the Minnesota summer light.
